The neighborhood of La Palmita, in the Gomeran municipality of Agulo, is preparing to celebrate with enthusiasm and devotion the traditional Fiestas de San Isidro Labrador, which will take place from May 15 to 18, 2025. This festivity, organized by the Town Council of Agulo with the collaboration of the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, will offer a varied program of religious, cultural and musical activities designed for all ages.
On Thursday, May 15, the celebrations will begin with a Holy Mass in honor of San Isidro, followed by a traditional procession accompanied by chácaras and drums, symbols of Gomeran folklore.
Friday 16 will begin with a craft exhibition at the Mirador de Abrante, and will continue with live music in the Plaza de La Palmita, highlighting the performance of the Musical Association Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes. In the evening, there will be a great musical evening with Quimbao La Nuit and the verbena animated by Grupo Sabor.
On Saturday, the 17th, the long-awaited “Camino a San Isidro” will be held, a collective walk full of roots and tradition, which will unite the neighborhood in a festive atmosphere. The day will conclude with a popular evening dance by Grupo Caribe and Grupo Amanecer.
Finally, on Sunday 18, a solemn mass and final procession will be celebrated, followed by a lively dance with the musician Fernandito Martin, putting the finishing touch to a festival that mixes faith, tradition, music and community.
